Inspired Technology Systems supports customer-specific Order Pallet Label Formats to help warehouses generate pallet labels that match customer shipping, EDI, retail, and receiving requirements.
Some customers require pallet labels to follow a specific layout or include specific data elements. These requirements can vary by customer, trading partner, retailer, receiving process, or shipping workflow.
Order Pallet Label Formats give the business a controlled way to generate customer-specific pallet labels after the order has been verified.
An Order Pallet Label Format controls the layout and data requirements of pallet labels printed for a customer.
These labels are generated at the order level and apply only after an order has been fully verified.
The format may follow a custom layout required by the customer.
The Order Pallet Label Format setting is maintained in the Customer Master.
Once a format is selected for a customer, pallet labels for that customer can be generated using the selected format after order verification.
This allows different customers to have different pallet label requirements without changing the pallet label process for every customer.
Order pallet labels are only available after an order has been fully verified.
Because an order may contain multiple pick tickets, the system waits until all pick tickets are verified and the order reaches Ready to Manifest status before generating order pallet labels.
This helps ensure that pallet data is complete and accurate before labels are printed.
Order pallet labels can be printed from the order entry screen after the order has been verified.
Users can search for the order and use the Print Order Labels option to generate pallet labels using the customer's selected format.
Order pallet labels can also print automatically during the final verification step when the Order Labels checkbox is selected.
Both methods use the Order Pallet Label Format selected on the customer.
Order pallet label formats do not automatically require specific item or system data.
A customer may request a custom Order Pallet Label Format without requiring pack size, GTIN, gross weight, pallet weight, or other item-level fields.
Validations are enforced only when the specific pallet label format is designed to require certain data elements.
Depending on how the customer's pallet label format is built, optional data elements may include pack and size, gross weight, GTIN number, pallet weight, or other item or pallet-level values.
Customers who require a unique pallet label layout can request a custom Order Pallet Label Format to be created.
A sample label, specification, or customer requirement can be reviewed to determine what the custom format should include.
Once the format is created, it can be added as a dropdown option under Order Pallet Label Format in the Customer Master.
The format can then be selected for the appropriate customer so order pallet labels follow the required layout after orders are verified.
Order Pallet Label Formats control how pallet labels are printed.
They do not control pallet-building rules, such as whether a customer allows multiple items on the same pallet.
This separation is important because a customer may require a custom pallet label format without restricting mixed-item pallets, or may restrict mixed-item pallets without requiring a custom label format.
Order pallet label formats are useful when customers, retailers, trading partners, or receiving operations require specific pallet label layouts.
For EDI and retail receiving workflows, pallet labels may need to present information in a way that matches the customer's receiving process.
Customer-specific pallet labels can help reduce confusion, improve receiving accuracy, and support shipping documentation requirements.
Order Pallet Label Formats are useful for food distribution software, cold storage warehouse software, and warehouse operations where palletized shipments must meet customer-specific requirements.
For warehouse teams, pallet labels are part of the shipping process. The right label format can help connect order verification, pallet data, customer requirements, and outbound documentation.
Order Pallet Label Formats are part of the larger ERP and WMS software workflow for customer orders, picking, verification, pallet labels, shipping, and manifesting.
By generating customer-specific pallet labels from verified order data, Inspired Technology Systems helps businesses support customer shipping requirements without relying on disconnected manual label processes.
